Spectrum, wrong measurements and range

Post by Nifty »

Hi folks,

I am still quite a new PicoScope user, struggling a bit with getting the Spectrum to work as I think it should work.

My first issue is that the measurements does not seem to be correct. I have added two measurements; "Amplitude at Peak" and "Frequency at Peak" at Cursor 1. But the amplitude seems to be completely off compared to what i see in the view.

The cursor is placed at approximately 11 MHz with the view indicating that the highest peak is around -16 to -17 dBV. I have added two screenshots to demonstrate, one is zoomed in closely.
The Spectrum settings are Blackman-Harris at 262144 bins, peak display, log scales at X and Y.

My Second issue is that setting the spectrum Range, does not actually change the view range to the values entered. Example:
I enter start and stop 10 kHz - 31.25 MHz, but the view is 0.01 MHz to 100 MHz.
Changing the stop value to 30 MHz, the view stop changes from 100 to 95.44 MHz - and a zoom window pops up. According to the little infomation icon next to the stop-value setting, the purpose of the manual start-stop range is to avoid using the zoom window.

I added a screenshot of that also.

Please help me understand here, is this normal or is it bugs ?
