New to Picolog

Post by Mark19820 »

Hi all. Im new to piclog tech. Ive recently brought the Cm3 data logger and cant for the life of me get it to connect through ethernet. How do i find what ip address i should be using or port number. ive tried the user manuals but still no joy. Ive read somewhere that theres on ip programme in the programme files but i cant seem to see it. Any help and advice would be much appreciated. :D

You did connect it to a POE capable switch.
A normal switch or a direct connection to laptop or PC will not work.

This is for a PT104 but the same applies for the CMS.

Open PicoLog 6 and then on the picture of the device clcik the 3 dots, and then select Device Information which will bring up the following panel where you can set up the ethernet address for the CM3

Chose an address and port that is accessible on your network
Then select the COG on the left hand side of the software

and ensure that ethernet is enabled for CM3

Finally the device will need to be connected and powered over ethernet using POE, or connected but also powered by the USB port.
